What originally motivated you to try Pilates and then go on to train as an
instructor?

My extensive health history. I have had many health issues overcome by sticking with Pilates, becoming an instructor was the easiest step for me!

What did you eat for breakfast?

Greek yoghurt with oats and fruit!

In one word, describe your first Pilates experience?

Lifechanging.

What’s the best thing about your job?

Connecting with others, watching clients achieve their goals.

Your ‘go to’ website for all things Pilates (other than PAA)?

Pilates Anytime.

The best advice you’ve ever had?

Back yourself, when nobody else will back you.

An indulgence you can’t live without?

Magnum Ice-cream!

How long have you been a member of PAA and how did you hear about PAA?

2 and a half years I believe? I already knew about the PAA through the business I was working for.

Do you have a motto?

Be yourself, back yourself. It’s your life, no one else is living it for you.

What’s the most challenging aspect of your job?

Over-investing my energy- this is not a bad thing, but I tend to care too much sometimes as I want to support my clients in every way I can.

How do you use PAA?

Insurance & to be updated on the Pilates world news; especially in the case of having Pilates be made available for Private Health again. I know too many people personally whose lives have been affected by the change in 2019.

Who is your Pilates idol or would love to meet, and why?

Jo! If only he were around today, I would love to meet him. He is the start of Pilates! To pick his brain about how he thought outside the box to rehab people would be an unforgettable moment. If only he knew the legacy and world he has created today.

What do you appreciate most about your body?

Its strength & resilience.

The book you’re currently reading?

Skin Painting by Elizabeth Hodgson.

How has COVID 19 impacted your Pilates

COVID-19 seriously impacted my Pilates. It saw me out of the studio, and I am still trying to get back on my feet. However, in a positive light, my practice has never been better or stronger, even better than when we were prepping for exams.
