WordPress Wordcamp Sydney, 16-17 November 2019

If you manage your own website you’ve probably heard of WordPress, the most popular free website content editor on the internet holding 60.8% market share in the content management system market and powering 14.7% of the world’s top websites.

What’s not so well known is that every year local user groups organise WordPress conferences across the globe, known as Wordcamps, and there’s one coming up next weekend, 16-17 November 2019.

WordCamp Sydney

WordCamp Sydney is set to be the biggest Australian WordPress event of the year with a line up of talks covering website design, development, marketing, SEO and business. Volunteer-run and not-for-profit, it’s for designers, developers, marketers, business owners, and everyone in between that use WordPress or any other website.

The event, held at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), features two days of talks where you can learn insider content from industry experts. There are two content streams: a technical stream for WordPress designers and developers, and a second stream for business and marketing. It’s this stream that might be of interest to members who are website owners/managers.

The schedule is further split into the following general topic areas, with some really interesting looking sessions:

  • Advertising
  • Building with WordPress
  • Business Owners
  • Content marketing
  • Non-technical
  • SEO and SEM
  • Technical
  • UX and UI (User experience and User Interfaces)

Here are a few of the sessions titles from the Business Owners topic area to give an idea of the content:

At just $70 for the whole weekend, tickets include your choice of 32 talks (no registration, choose on the day as you go along), morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea on both days, a ticket to the After Party and an invite to welcome drinks on Friday.
