PAA Education and Industry Forum

We recently held the second annual PAA Education and Industry Forum with registered PAA Education Bodies to discuss issues related to our industry, businesses, instructors and students.

The Forum was well attended by representatives from the PAA Education Bodies and provided a wonderful face to face opportunity to discuss and debate a broad range of topics integral to our members and the development and vibrancy of the Pilates industry as a whole.

Topics on the agenda for discussion included

  • Industry wide survey results
  • Regulation and recognition of the Pilates profession
  • Criteria for online PD workshops
  • Course Competency Criteria (CCC) and minimum standards for PAA recognised courses
  • Defining distinct Pilates Education training methods within the CCC – including Classical, Contemporary and Clinical.
  • Work placement guidelines for students
  • Draft Scope of Practice for PAA members

Discussions were very productive and provided different perspectives on issues facing our industry and members. The forum is one of our key strategies to engage with PAA Education Bodies and continue to develop the education standards, profile and recognition of the Pilates industry in Australia.
